Bischoff (Kat. §2171) did not ascribe this fragment to any specific centre, but only indicates laconically: 'unter bretonischem Einfluß (?).' This could mean that this MS was written in a scriptorium near Brittany, or by a Breton scribe working outside of his country. Lieftinck (1951: 193, n. 1) associates the script of this fragment with the scriptorium of Tours: '... une très belle calligraphie montrant l'influence de l'école de Tours [...]. Sans doute cette écriture achevée doit être assignée à un milieu très important.' |
