|Shelfmark||MS 110 (58)|

Saint-Père-en-Vallée (near Chartres)
The contents of this MS, now largely destroyed, included:
|Old Breton Materials||No|
|Irish / Hiberno-Latin materials||No|
|Connection with Brittany|
Only burned fragments of this MS have survived the bombing of the 26th of June 1944. The presence of 'Breton' neumes on fol. 88r was noted in Benoît-Castelli and Huglo 1954: 174 (cf. also Huglo 1964: 68), but this is certainly not enough to claim a Breton origin for this MS (cf. PMSB 298: 'origine bretonne?'), especially in view of Rankin's recent considerations on Breton neumes (see the entry for Chartres, BM, MS 47 in the present Handlist). Perhaps the MS was rather written in the area of Chartres?
