| Notes |
Deuffic's inclusion of this MS in his PMSB (p. 299) depends on an unpublished list of MSS prepared by Léon Fleuriot (cf. PMSB 290). However, I am not aware of any explicit evidence indicating that this MS was written in Brittany, and I do not know why Fleuriot included it in his list. There are different views on the origin of this MS: Bischoff (Kat. §2293) merely attributed it to 'Nördliches Frankreich (?)', while Samaran and Marichal (CMD VII, 476) tentatively suggested that it may have been written at the abbey of Saint-Pierre de la Couture, at Le Mans. A colophon at fol. 128r gives us the name of one of the scribes, Iohannes, but this does not bring us any closer to an answer. |
