Notes

This MS was in all likelihood written at Tours, possibly in the third quarter of the ninth century. The first folio, however, is an eleventh-century addition containing a letter sent in AD 1051 by the clergy of Nantes to Pope Leo IX to complain about the conduct of Aerardus (never named explicitly in the letter), who had been named Bishop of Nantes by the Pope in AD 1049 (ed. Morice 1742: cols 397–8).
